Podology services are provided only at Medivia Tıp Merkezi. The service is provided by Pınar Şengül, Podolog (foot care professional).
Scope of Podological Care
Podology focuses on maintaining and caring for foot and nail health. A podolog and a physician have different professional roles. Diagnosing a disease and planning medical treatment require a physician’s assessment. Care related to a diagnosed condition is considered within the relevant specialist physician’s diagnosis and referral.
Care and Assessment Topics
- Nail Care: For concerns such as ingrown nails, the suitability of care and the need for a physician’s assessment are considered.
- Calluses and Thickened Skin: Foot care needs are assessed; disease-related conditions require the physician’s diagnosis and guidance.
- Foot Care for People with Diabetes: The scope of care should take the person’s health and physician’s recommendations into account. Podological care does not replace diabetes follow-up or wound treatment.
- Heel and Sole Pain: A physician should assess the cause of pain. Foot care alone is not presented as a diagnosis or treatment.
- Suspected Fungal Nail Or Skin Conditions: Medical diagnosis and treatment require a physician’s assessment; care procedures do not replace it.
- Orthotics and Insoles: Their necessity and suitability should be assessed by the relevant physician.
- Preventive Foot Care: Information about foot and nail care and individual care needs are discussed.
